Bradley adds 2nd National title in 2015

Jessie Bradley atop the podium for a gold medal sweep.

Coming off an outstanding bronze medal performance five weeks ago at the USA Weightlifting Senior National Championships in Dallas, TX, Jessie Bradley demonstrated terrific lifting at the National University Championships. The event was also designated the final World Team Trials event for the World Championships,

Coach Cara Heads Slaughter reviewed a competition plan with Jessie to acheive two priorities: win the National University Championship and surpass the 210 kg total to improve her qualification as an alternate for the Senior World Championships.

It is a sign of competitive maturity when a lifter makes the lifts to place them in the best position to win. At 18 years old, Jessie demonstrated that with a strong 4/6 performance.

Jessie tied her personal best in the snatch (96 kg), missing her third attempt of 98 kg to surpoass the junior American record. In the clean and jerk, she finsihed with a personal best 116 kg, which led to a gold medal sweep for the snatch, clean and jerk, and overall total. The snatch and total were new American University records in the 75 kg class.Jessie's PR total of 212 kg also improved her qualification as an alternate for the Senior World Championships.

This is the second national title for Jessie in 2015. In February, Jessie has a gold medal sweep at the National Junior Championships in Oklahoma City, OK.
